| Russo’s Pizzeria in Burnips The pizzeria is owned by Francesco and Maria Frano. It will feature pizza, subs, and pasta. They offer three different types of pizzas that come in a variety of sizes, including taco pizzas, extra thick party pizzas, and regular pizzas with various toppings. Russo’s will also offer 11 different subs, ranging from vegetarian to chicken parmigiana. They have pasta dishes including spaghetti, mostaccioli parmigiana, ravioli, manicotti, stuffed shells, and lasagna. In addition, they offer wet and dry burritos, a soup of the day, and a tossed salad. Russo’s Pizzeria is direct offspring ot Russo’s Italian Restaurant on Division Avenue. Both Francesco and Maria worked at the Italian restaurant, which is owned by Francesco’s father-in-law.“After working there for six years, working 13-14 hour days, you get a grasp of how everything works. We got all of our experience from my father-in-law,” Francesco said. As soon as they learned how everything worked in the pizzeria business “to make sure the quality that came out was top quality,” Francesco said they decided it would be a good idea to start their own business. Francesco said they chose the location in Burnips because there wasn’t a pizza place nearby. “We thought this was convenient for the people in Burnips,” he said. The Frano’s remodeled the building with the help of their family and opened the business on Nov. 13. Francesco said the community has really embraced them.“The people here have been very warm and welcoming. They have expressed positive thoughts and have been real excited that we are here, and likewise we are excited to be here,” Francesco said.
